Modern Eye is a unique full-service optical shop with two locations in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - at 3419 Walnut Street in the Shops at Penn in University City on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania - and in Center City Philadelphia at 145 South 13th Street, at the corner of 13th and Walnut Streets. Doctor owned and operated by Chris Anastasiou, optometrist, full professional eye care is available at both locations by Dr. Anastasiou and his associate, Dr. Bryan Machamer. Services include complete eye examinations including refraction, vision analysis, ocular health, dilation of the pupil, and glaucoma testing, as well as contact lens fittings and laser surgery screenings and co-management. Most contact lenses are available at competitive prices. State-of-the-art eyeglass labs run by full-time certified opticians are on site in both stores.

The latest technology in eyeglass lenses, polycarbonate and hi-index plastic single vision and progressive bifocal include brands Hoya, Zeiss, Shamir, Seiko and Varilux - and iZon, the precision “high definition” eyeglass lens system, which uses wavefront laser technology to scan the whole eye for customized lenses that eliminate unique abberations that can obscure vision.

Hours in both locations are Monday through Friday 10 to 6 PM and Saturdays 10 to 5 PM.
