Oakley was started by James Jannard in 1975 in his garage, where he produced BMX accessories such as gloves, bike grips and protective pads. The first Oakley sunglasses; Factory Pilot Eyeshades, were sport-oriented, resembling goggles and were released in 1984. These were followed in 1985 by the Frogskins, a more casual style which has become a mainstay of the brand. Today, they remain one of the most popular and iconic eyewear brands in the world, offering a diverse range of opthalmic and sunglass frames.
